Excitervous

When my daughter, Kelsey, was getting ready for her first solo backpacking trip, I asked her how she was feeling about it. She said, "Excited . . . and nervous."

I started wondering if there was a word that combined the two emotions, but couldn't think of one. A family brainstorming session came up with a hybrid that works: excitervous. It's been in the family lexicon ever since.
