12/9/11 -- For over thirty years my wife, Debbie, has said that she was absolutely positively NOT interested in rock climbing. Imagine my surprise, then, when she announced recently that she wanted to give it a try. She did, and is now belay certified to climb at the local indoor climbing gym. We went yesterday. Afterward, she said, "That was fun!" And she wants to go again SOON! It took real courage for her to face her fears and conquer them. I'm so proud of her I could pop a button.

Writing generates the same fear in others. What if someone reads my heartfelt work and think it's dumb? What if people laugh, or roll their eyes? Well, take a cue from my wife, Debbie. Give it a try. You might find it's not so intimidating after all, and that you want to have a go at it again SOON!
