I'm just back from a 2.5 week

3/10/12 -- I'm just back from a 2.5 week school visit trip to Arkansas, Alabama, and North Carolina. Great school, great teachers, great kids. But with so much traveling and speaking going on, plus responding to packets of work from my stellar students at the Vermont College of Fine Arts, it's been hard to get as much of my own writing done as I'd like. Even when I have been able to carve out some time, I've felt as if my mind has been caught in the whirlwind of my schedule and simply blown away.

Until I watched Academy Award winning The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. If you haven't seen the animated short, check it out; it's only fifteen minutes long. (Click on the title to link you to YouTube.) It will make you want to be a writer, no matter how blown away you feel.
