Freckles? Nope, mud splatter from a mountain bike ride. Note to self: be sure to keep your mouth closed next time. Although I have to admit the flavor was savory, earthy, and with a hint of oak undertones. Not bad. This little bit of sensory detail will no doubt end up in a story at some point . . .
